Job Purpose
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the bank’s operational functions, ensuring efficiency, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and scalable infrastructure to support both traditional banking and digital/e-payment operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily banking and e-payment operations.
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
- Oversee back-office operations, transaction processing, settlements, and digital payment systems.
- Ensure full compliance with Central Bank regulations and financial industry standards.
- Improve operational efficiency, cost control, and service delivery performance.
- Manage operational risk and internal control frameworks.
- Supervise IT operations related to payment platforms, core banking systems, and digital channels.
- Establish KPIs and performance monitoring mechanisms.
- Lead cross-functional coordination between credit, compliance, finance, and IT departments.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives and process automation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum 15 years of banking experience, with at least 7–10 years in senior operational leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of banking regulations, payment systems, AML/KYC requirements.
- Experience in digital banking and e-payment platforms.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
