We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing solar energy team. In this role, you will contribute to accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and insightful analysis that supports the deployment of clean energy projects across our portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end closing processes in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Perform project accounting for solar installations, including cost tracking, capitalization, and revenue recognition.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports for project teams and senior leadership.
- Oversee fixed assets, depreciation, impairment reviews, and maintain accurate asset registers.
- Manage intercompany transactions, foreign currency reconciliations, and tax compliance support.
- Monitor cash flow, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and support treasury activities.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and assist with internal and external audits; implement process improvements.
- Support grant accounting and incentives tracking where applicable; monitor subsidies and tax credits related to renewable energy projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and sales to ensure accurate project costing and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience; experience in energy, utilities, manufacturing, or renewable energy sectors strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
- Solid knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, revenue recognition, cost capitalization, depreciation, and financial reporting.
- Project accounting experience and ability to work with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and shifting regulatory requirements; proactive problem-solving mindset.
