The Yard Operator will be responsible for the secure and efficient movement of trucks through the Aqaba city by verifying permit accuracy, monitoring compliance, and responding to operational incidents. This role is critical in maintaining regulatory standards, safeguarding sensitive customs areas, and supporting uninterrupted yard operations. The position involves coordinating with the control room, supervising access control, reporting violations and emergencies, and performing shift supervisor duties when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify the validity and accuracy of truck permits before granting access.
- Ensure all permit details for trucks exiting Aqaba are complete and properly issued.
- Report any unauthorized truck entries into Aqaba to the shift supervisor via an official report.
- Notify the shift supervisor immediately of any internet or power outages or emergencies such as accidents near the gate.
- Prepare and submit reports on technical violations committed by employees or drivers to the shift supervisor.
- Detain trucks attempting to exit the route without proper authorization and report the incident to the shift supervisor.
- Verify the chassis numbers of Truck-trailers on-site when directed by the control room to correct truck status.
- Monitor the truck block for vehicles flagged by the control room.
- Confirm the block status and reason and take appropriate action such as lifting the block or maintaining it until the issue is resolved.
- Actions may include correcting permit errors or obtaining a signed pledge from the driver.
- Perform shift supervisor duties when they are outside the yard.
- Operate the electronic gate manually in emergency situations, such as internet or power outages in the control room.
Requirements:
- Diploma degree in Logistics, Transportation, or related field.
- 3- 5 years of experience in similar role
