The Operations Manager at AD Ports Group is responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of all truck control system functions within the Ports Cluster in Aqaba, Jordan.
Will be leading and overseeing the 24/7, year-round operations of 100+ employees, including third-party personnel, across multiple sites within Aqaba and other locations in Jordan, supporting an average of 300+ truck movements per day across three shifts, all while ensuring the safety and quality protocols are consistently applied across all truck-related operations and work sites.
This role ensures the seamless movement of trucks through marshalling yards and port terminals, as well as managing other digital operations, leveraging advanced control systems and best operational practices to optimize efficiency, safety, and compliance.
Core Responsibilities:
•Lead day-to-day operations of the truck control system deployment and management.
•Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to streamline workflows and improve solution reliability.
• Lead the response to truck-related operational crises, ensuring continuity of movement and minimal disruption to terminal operations
• Supervise and coordinate to ensure truck movement workflows align with the approved operational plans.
• Liaise with the relevant government entities (Customs, ASEZA, Land Transport Regulatory commission, etc.) and port terminals in Aqaba city to facilitate truck flow procedures and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with internal departments, government entities, and external partners to facilitate timely documentation, reporting, and operational continuity, especially during disruptions or crisis situations.
• Address and resolve operational issues raised by the transport and clearance companies to maintain uninterrupted truck flow.
•Mentor, guide, and provide training to operations teams to build capacity and encourage operational excellence.
• conduct regular field inspections across truck marshaling yards, terminal entry and exit gates, and internal yard areas to ensure the smooth flow of truck movements.
•Monitor System KPIs and produce operational reports for both the management and the stakeholders.
•Coordinate with product development teams to provide operational feedback and drive continuous improvement.
•Regularly review and update contingency plans to address operational risks and changes in local procedures and regulations.
• Recommend enhancements to truck flow processes and contribute to the development of operational strategies for improved efficiency.
• Regulate and monitor truck movement within the Marshaling yards to prevent congestion and ensure orderly flow.
• Handle inquiries and requests from truck drivers and visitors, providing clear guidance and support.
• Coordinate daily operational needs between the Control Room and marshaling yard teams to ensure synchronized truck handling and terminal support.
• Support and oversee the Digital Operations.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in similar role
• Advanced Knowledge of Truck Control Systems (TCS), Terminal Operating Systems (TOS), or Yard Management Systems (YMS).
