AAAR work is mainly focusing on the following programme priorities:
- Women’s Rights, building feminist leadership to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls.
- Youth and Community-led humanitarian action, Strengthening preparedness and crisis response through women and youth leadership.
- Fostering civic and political engagement and increasing the employability of young people, fostering young people's agency to influence decision-makers and create opportunities.
- Climate Justice, raising awareness on climate change, fostering youth participation in climate action.
- Background Information on The Intervention
ActionAid Arab Region (AAAR), in partnership with Al-Hayat Center – RASED, is implementing the “Journey for the Creation of a Women Friendly Label” project in Jordan. The initiative aims to address the intersection of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and Women’s Economic Rights (WER) by recognizing institutions that promote safe, inclusive, and gender-responsive workplaces.
At its core, the project is developing the Women Friendly Label (WFL)— a certification awarded to businesses and institutions that demonstrate strong commitment to women’s rights and workplace equity. The label is being co-developed with a diverse Women Core Group, supported by technical experts, using a community-based, gender-transformative approach.
The Women Friendly Label (WFL) Platform was developed by AAAR in partnership with RASED to promote gender-inclusive workplaces in Jordan. The platform serves as a dedicated space to support women in the labor market and organizations committed to advancing women’s economic participation. It enables knowledge exchange, networking with experts, and access to practical resources that foster inclusiveness and fairness at work.
In addition, the platform provides educational and training modules that strengthen the capacities of workers and institutions, raise awareness on women’s rights and responsibilities, and offer practical tools for building women-friendly environments. Employers can also use the platform to register, submit applications, and complete self-assessment questionnaires as part of the WFL certification process.
- Purpose of the Assignment
The Purpose Of This Assignment Is To Strengthen And Optimize The Women Friendly Label Platform To Ensure It Serves As An Effective, User-friendly, And Sustainable Tool For Promoting Gender-inclusive Workplaces. Specifically, The Assignment Aims To:
- Improve platform stability and functionality to guarantee smooth performance across all devices and operating systems.
- Enhance the user interface by simplifying processes, improving navigation, and ensuring a seamless user experience.
- Integrate additional features that foster greater engagement, accessibility, and usability, thereby expanding the platform’s reach and impact among target stakeholders.
Scope of Work
- Error Resolution / Quality Assurance Fixes
- Cross-Device Compatibility
- Test and verify platform functionality across multiple devices and operating systems, with a specific focus on iOS and Android.
- Resolve all reported issues affecting platform performance and usability on iOS.
- Session Duration & Data Saving
- Extend the current session time beyond the existing 20-minute limit.
- Implement an auto-save feature to ensure users’ progress is securely saved, preventing data loss when sessions time out.
- Submission Button Visibility
- Fix and guarantee that the “Submit” button is always visible and functional once all required steps are completed.
- Certificate Display
- Review and enhance the formatting, resolution, and layout of certificates generated by the platform.
- Ensure certificates are clearly displayed on-screen and downloadable in a high-quality format.
- File Upload Restrictions
- Configure the system to accept only PDF file uploads, preventing Word or other formats that risk uploading empty or corrupted documents.
- Content Integration
- Review and compare the English and Arabic versions of all platform content.
- Identify and document any gaps, inconsistencies, or misalignments between the two versions.
- Update and integrate the "English version" to ensure it is fully consistent with the Arabic version in terms of structure, accuracy, and terminology.

- Add an icon or button enabling users to upload suggestions, feedback, or requests directly through the platform.
- Process Optimization
- Reduce the number of steps and questions in the assessment process cycle to make it faster and more user-friendly.
- Language & Content Updates
- Update and review the English version of the platform for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Reminders & Notifications
- Implement automated email or in-app reminders for pending actions or incomplete processes.
- Offline Video Access
- Enable offline viewing of e-learning videos for users with limited or unstable internet connectivity.
- User Guide Creation
- Develop a comprehensive, easy-to-understand user guide covering:
- Step-by-step navigation of the platform.
- Troubleshooting common issues.
- Explanation of key terms and definitions.

The Ideal Applicant Should Possess The Following Skills:
- Proven experience in web and mobile application development (iOS and Android) with cross-platform compatibility.
- Strong knowledge of Laravel framework for backend development.
- Expertise in MySQL database management, optimization, and integration.
- Proficiency in frontend technologies, including Vue.js, jQuery, and Bootstrap, for responsive and user-friendly interfaces.
- Experience in UI/UX improvements and interactive platform design.
- Ability to integrate secure file upload functionality with format restrictions (e.g., PDF only).
- Knowledge of error testing, debugging, and quality assurance for both mobile and web platforms.
- English and Arabic fluency.
