ME Regional Office is offering 3 internship positions within its investment teams for Bachelor's and Master's graduates of reputable Universities in Jordan. Based on their interview results, interns will be assigned to the corresponding industry.
Duties and Accountabilities:
As part of the Investment team, the intern will work under the guidance of senior staff to support the origination, structuring, and supervision of IFC investments. Responsibilities include:
• Analyze historical financial statements and prepare reports on the financial health and viability of a given company or project
• Conduct research and analysis to support business development, including mapping potential investment opportunities and assessing sector/country trends.
• Assist in the evaluation and due diligence of prospective transactions, including financial analysis, industry benchmarking, and preparation of investment review materials.
• Support the development of financial models and assist in assessing proposed structures for debt, equity, and blended finance investments.
• Prepare internal documents, briefing notes, pitch books, and client presentations to support transaction teams and management discussions.
• Contribute to the monitoring of existing investments by reviewing financial statements, performance data, and sector updates.
• Assist in preparing meeting materials and maintaining client databases to strengthen IFC’s relationships with companies, banks, and government counterparts.
• Work closely with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) colleagues and advisory teams to integrate development impact considerations into projects.
• Contribute to lessons-learned exercises, pipeline reviews, and knowledge products to inform investment and sector strategies.
• Extract lessons of IFC’s earlier investments or advisory mandates and other evaluative work as relevant to provide input to the structuring of new transactions or monitoring of existing transactions
Selection Criteria
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in finance, accounting, business, or engineering.
• Strong analytical and financial skills, including company financial statement analysis, DCF, scenario analysis, and comparable company analysis.
• Ability to build and work with complex financial models; hands-on experience from coursework, projects, or internships is desirable.
• Experience conducting market and industry research, with the ability to assess market conditions and identify gaps.
• Familiarity with corporate and project finance concepts, and willingness to support structuring work for debt and equity investments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to distill and present complex information clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency in presenting data creatively using tables and graphics; advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint required.
• Proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in multicultural teams.
• Strong interest in development finance and private sector growth.
• Excellent verbal and written English required; fluency in Arabic or other Middle East regional languages is an asset.
