Job Title: Head of Finance
Job Summary:
Will lead the financial management and strategy of a fast-paced, multi-unit restaurant business. This role is responsible for financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and compliance across company-owned and/or franchised operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in QSR or retail environments, with a deep understanding of food costs, labor management, margin optimization, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across all restaurant units.
- Develop strategic financial plans that support growth, expansion, and profitability goals.
- Partner with operations to control food costs, labor costs, and other key restaurant-level P&L drivers.
- Manage accounting, AP/AR, cash flow, and treasury functions.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and QSR-specific metrics.
- Implement and monitor internal controls and financial systems tailored to QSR operations.
- Track and analyze unit-level performance to support operational decisions and improve margins.
- Support site rollouts, new store openings, and remodeling from a financial standpoint.
- Work closely with franchisors/franchisees to manage financial relationships and contractual obligations.
- Ensure compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory requirements at local and national levels.
- Lead financial due diligence for new franchise deals, M&A activity, or capital investments.
- Use POS, ERP, and business intelligence tools to generate actionable insights.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in financial leadership roles, with at least 3 years in QSR, food service, or multi-unit retail.
- Deep understanding of QSR financial operations (COGS, labor efficiency, waste, etc.).
- Experience managing multi-site P&Ls and franchise models.
- Strong analytical and business modeling skills.
- Proficiency in financial software, POS systems, and restaurant analytics tools (e.g., NCR, Oracle NetSuite, Toast, etc.).
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
