The Function Purpose
Evaluate and enhance the bank’s credit functions processes by conducting audits on credit portfolios and credit policies and ensure compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform detailed audits of the bank’s credit files, loan documentation, and processes across various types of credit facilities (corporate, commercial, SME’s, etc.).
- Assess the adequacy of credit appraisal, approval, disbursement, and monitoring procedures to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Verify the completeness and accuracy of loan documentation, collateral valuation, and legal compliances.
- Detect lapses, irregularities, or deviations from prescribed credit policies and recommend corrective actions.
- Document findings, prepare detailed reports, and communicate issues to management for appropriate action.
- Track the implementation of corrective measures suggested in audit reports.
- Ensure that all credit activities comply with applicable banking regulations and internal policies.
- Provide insights into risk exposures and suggest improvements to credit practices.
- Keep abreast of changing regulations, banking practices, and industry trends related to credit functions.
