Job Description
The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards. This role involves recording, reconciling, and analyzing financial transactions, and supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes. The GL Accountant also assists with audits, financial reporting, and compliance activities, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
- Journal Entries & Posting:
Prepare, review, and post journal entries for various financial transactions, including accruals, prepayments, intercompany charges, and adjustments. Ensure all journal entries are supported with proper documentation and approval in line with internal policies.
Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including cash, bank, prepaid expenses, accruals, intercompany, and other key GL accounts. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Month-End & Year-End Close Support:
Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring all necessary entries are recorded on time. Prepare supporting schedules and reports as required by senior accountants or management.
- Audit & Compliance Support:
Assist in internal and external audits by preparing requested schedules, reconciliations, and documentation. Help ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Financial Reporting Assistance:
Support the preparation of financial reports by collecting data and creating preliminary drafts of reports. Assist in variance analysis by comparing actuals to budgets or forecasts.
- Process Documentation & Improvement:
Help document accounting processes and controls for GL activities. Propose and support improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in day-to-day tasks.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with AP, AR, payroll, procurement, and other departments to ensure accurate financial postings and resolution of queries. Participate in cross-functional projects as needed.
Requirements:
- Internal: At least 1 year experience within Concentrix, no HR Action and targets met for the past 3 months, good Excel skills
- External: Majored in Accounting (at least B.A. level) and demonstrated practical experience.
