Position Overview:
As a Senior Accountant, you will be pivotal in managing financial operations and ensuring compliance within our logistics company. Your expertise will contribute to the company’s financial stability and growth.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Finance Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
1. Financial Management:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Monitor cash flow and manage working capital efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements in every country we work on. Financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
- Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
- Oversee the financial audit preparation and coordinate the audit process
- Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
- Analyze and advise on business operations, including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments, and future revenues
2. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate accurate financial reports and analyze financial data.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies for financial optimization.
3. Internal Controls and Auditing:
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
- Implement best practices to safeguard company assets.
4. Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor part of the accounting team.
- Foster a collaborative work environment.
- Ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to deadlines.
5. Vendor, Customer, and Partner Relations:
- Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, customers, and financial institutions.
- Negotiate favorable terms and resolve financial discrepancies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
(CPA) or (CMA) qualification preferred.
Proven 5 years of experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role.
Familiarity with logistics industry accounting practices, social security, and labour law.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics GP).
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Proficiency in the English language is a must.
Ability to travel as needed.
