Job Title - Material Planning Engineer
Job Overview:
To effectively plan raw material supplies, determine requirements for finished goods, and convert customer orders into actual production orders—in coordination with the Production and Procurement departments and based on sales plans. The goal is to optimize resource utilization, minimize operational costs resulting from downtime and excess inventory, and ensure seamless operational continuity and supply efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Calculate requirements for raw materials and production supplies.
- Convert customer orders into production orders and establish manufacturing priorities according to delivery schedules.
- Monitor material production plans, ensure the readiness of finished materials, and oversee their timely delivery to warehouses.
- Prepare periodic reports on material readiness and the alignment of production plans with sales forecasts.
- Analyze actual material consumption rates and compare them against production plans and sales requirements.
- Review and audit Bill of Materials (BOM) and production formulas.
- Issue Purchase Requisitions (PR) for raw materials and packaging materials in a timely manner.
- Monitor inventory levels, including Min/Max levels and Reorder Points (ROP).
- Update and review Material Requirements Planning (MRP) schedules in response to changes in sales and production plans.
- Track the execution of production orders and compare actual output against approved plans.
- Analyze variances and root causes, making necessary plan adjustments in cases of breakdowns, material shortages, or demand fluctuations.
- Follow up on open purchase orders with the Procurement department to ensure material delivery according to production schedules.
- Analyze material consumption, operational runtime, and downtime.
- Prepare and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including material availability, material shortage downtime, inventory turnover, planning accuracy, and stockouts.
- Maintain continuous coordination with Sales, Production, Procurement, Warehousing, Quality, and Logistics departments to ensure material availability and uninterrupted production operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in material planning within the industrial sector.
- Experience in aerosol manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, or FMCG industries is preferred.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English.
Skills & Competencies
- Hands-on experience in material requirements planning using MRP systems.
Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets (G-Sheet).
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Sage X3).
- Knowledge of Power BI is preferred.
