The Director, Market Development is responsible for identifying, shaping, and unlocking new growth opportunities across MENA by expanding beyond traditional market boundaries and enabling our company to ‘grow the cake’. The role focuses on ecosystem development, new market creation, strategic partnerships, healthcare system engagement, and long-term growth platforms that go beyond the current portfolio and operating model.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Identify and define new growth spaces beyond the current portfolio (new markets, channels, segments, models)
- Develop market shaping strategies to expand access, demand, and ecosystem participation
- Lead engagement with external stakeholders including governments, healthcare systems, payers, and key partners
- Identify and build strategic partnerships with regional players, sovereign entities, distributors, and innovators
- Support entry into new therapeutic areas, care pathways, or business models aligned with long-term growth
- Generate insights on healthcare evolution, policy trends, and structural shifts impacting future demand
- Work closely with Portfolio, BD, and Commercial teams to translate market development opportunities into actionable growth initiatives
- Act as a catalyst to shift our company from competing on existing share to expanding total market opportunities

External: Governments, healthcare authorities, partners, distributors, strategic ecosystem players
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Education: Degree in Business, Economics, Healthcare or related field; MBA preferred
Experience: 10–15+ years in strategy, market development, consulting or healthcare ecosystem roles
Skills: Strong strategic thinking, external orientation, partnership building, and ability to create new growth opportunities
