About the Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring accounting records are maintained in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), supporting financial reporting, and contributing to the monthly and annual close processes. You will work closely with auditors, tax consultants, and operational teams while helping develop and mentor junior accountants.
Responsibilities
- Manage and review general ledger accounts to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
- Support monthly and annual closing, including preparation of financial statements and disclosures.
- Coordinate with auditors to ensure smooth annual audit processes.
- Prepare payments and verify documentation to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Assist in cash flow management and forecasting to support financial planning.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.
- Prepare and submit sales tax returns and liaise with tax consultants on income tax filings.
- Analyze financial performance and provide meaningful insights for decision-making.
- Support budgeting and yearly business review processes.
- Lead weekly Accounts Receivable (AR) aging meetings and monitor receivables follow-up.
- Train and mentor accountants and contribute to team development.
- Ensure strong documentation, compliance, and audit trail for all financial activities.
Qualifications and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
- CMA certification is a plus
- 4 –7 years of relevant experience in accounting/finance
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
