Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to lead the full spectrum of HR functions for our industrial operations, covering a workforce of approximately 400 employees. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in power plants or heavy industrial environments, with proven expertise in people management, payroll administration, and labour compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. People Management & HR Operations
- Oversee all HR operations for a workforce of ~400 employees, including staff, technicians, engineers, and site teams.
- Lead the end-to-end employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, confirmation, transfers, promotions, and offboarding.
- Develop, implement, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) aligned with company goals and local labor laws.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees on HR-related queries, grievances, and escalations, ensuring timely and fair resolution.
2. Payroll & Compensation
- Oversee monthly payroll processing for ~400 employees, ensuring 100% accuracy and timely disbursement of salaries.
- Coordinate with Finance to validate attendance, overtime, shifts, allowances, incentives, and deductions.
- Maintain and secure payroll records, reports, and documentation for audits and compliance.
3. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Collaborate with department heads to understand manpower requirements and develop workforce plans for plant operations and maintenance.
- Lead recruitment for key roles: engineers, technicians, operators, administrative staff, and site support teams.
- Manage relationships with recruitment agencies, technical institutes, and local talent pools.
- Manage disciplinary actions, warning letters, and investigations in line with due process and legal frameworks.
4. Performance Management & Development
- Implement and manage performance appraisal systems (KPIs, goals, annual reviews) for employees across functions.
- Work with managers to identify high performers, skill gaps, and training needs.
- Maintain accurate HR records, employee files, and HRMS data.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or related field; Master’s degree / MBA in HR preferred.
- 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in industrial / manufacturing / power plant or similar heavy industry environment is mandatory.
- Hands-on experience managing HR for a workforce of around 300–500 employees.
- Strong experience in payroll management and understanding of statutory compliance and labour laws.
