Job Summary
The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all production and operational activities within the company’s food manufacturing facilities, with a strong focus on bakery, ice cream, and dairy products. The role ensures efficient production, consistent product quality, food safety compliance, cost control, and continuous improvement across operations. The position requires strong leadership, hands-on manufacturing experience, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced food production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and oversee daily manufacturing operations across bakery, ice cream, and dairy production lines.
- Ensure production targets are met in terms of quantity, quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Implement and monitor food safety, quality, and hygiene standards (GMP, HACCP, ISO, or equivalent).
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Sales teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Optimize production processes to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and control manufacturing costs.
- Manage raw material usage, yields, and inventory levels in coordination with procurement and warehouse teams.
- Lead, train, and evaluate production supervisors, engineers, and line workers.
- Ensure compliance with local Iraqi regulations related to food manufacturing, labor, health, and safety.
- Prepare and analyze operational KPIs, production reports, and cost analysis for senior management.
- Support new product introductions, production trials, and capacity expansion projects.
- Handle operational risks, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing corrective actions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Dairy Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in food manufacturing operations.
- Proven hands-on experience in at least two of the following sectors, preferably all three:
- Bakery manufacturing
- Ice cream production
- Dairy processing
- Strong knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000 or similar).
- Experience managing large production teams and multiple production lines.
- Solid understanding of production planning, OEE, yield control, and cost management.
- Ability to read and analyze production, quality, and financial reports.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Good command of English (Arabic required).
- Preferred nationality: Iraqi, Jordanian, Egyptian, Iranian
Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Experience working in industrial-scale food factories.
- Familiarity with ERP or production management systems.
- Strong communication and coordination skills across departments.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production deadlines.
- Continuous improvement mindset (Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma knowledge is a plus).
