"The GIZ Jordan Country Office “Joint Delivery Unit” is seeking to hire a “Digital Governance & Information Security Partner” for full-time based employment.
Help shape secure and responsible digital transformation. In this role, you make sure that trust is built on solid ground through strong governance, clear guidance, and practical support.

You are the key partner for secure and responsible digital transformation across GIZ Jordan.
You are part of the Joint Delivery Unit (JDU), within the IT & Digital Team. From here, you work across the entire organization.
You collaborate closely with:
IT Lead and IT professionals
JDU leadership
HQ information security and CISO structures
Central data protection team
Global digital networks (e.g. DIGITS)
Heads of Units and commissioning managers
You are the go-to person for managers and teams when it comes to digital governance, security, and data-related questions.
We are looking for someone who can bridge worlds:

Able to explain complex topics in simple terms
Interested in digital transformation and the role of AI
Qualifications and Specialist Knowledge
Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, business, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience (e.g. information security, IT governance, digitaltransformation)
Hands-on experience with ISO/IEC 27001 and ISMS operations
Good understanding of data protection and privacy principles (e.g. GDPR)
Basic understanding of AI governance and digital risks
Solid general understanding of IT systems and common digital tools
Experience working in complex or matrix organizations is an advantage

Main Responsibilities
This role combines security, governance, and advisory work to support safe and effective digital transformation:
Maintain and improve our information security system (ISMS): Keep systems audit-ready, manage risks, support audits, and ensure compliance with ISO 27001.
Advise on data protection and digital governance: Help teams handle data correctly, use digital tools safely, and apply rules in a practical way.
Support responsible use of AI and digital innovation: Guide teams on risks and opportunities and help develop simple frameworks for safe AI use.
Build awareness and support teams: Provide guidance, onboarding, and training to make security and governance part of everyday work.

Focus of the role
~60% Information security and ISMS.
~20% Data protection and digital governance.
~20% AI governance and innovation support.
