JOB PURPOSE
The Assistant Manager is responsible for serving customers on the shop floor and supporting the shop/department managers in ensuring efficient shop operations and maintaining high standards of customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome customers and provide expert product advice to ensure high service standards and quality sales.
- Support inventory control by assisting with stock monitoring and product ordering.
- Report operational issues and handle customer complaints, resolving or escalating when required.
- Prepare and analyze reports on KPIs, sales performance, inventory levels, and team productivity.
- Assist in staff scheduling to meet operational needs while controlling labor costs.
- Assign and monitor daily tasks to sales associates, cashiers, and coordinators to ensure efficient operations.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures, including petty cash, reporting, and compliance with company policies.
- Communicate sales targets, track team performance, and recommend corrective actions to management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Five years of experience in Retail, or a similar role.
- Two years of experience in a managerial role
