About INTERSOS:
INTERSOS is an Italian humanitarian organization that works all over the world bringing assistance to people in danger, including victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts. We intervene to effectively meet the needs of people in crisis, with particular attention to vulnerable groups, women and children. We provide primary assistance in terms of food, shelter, medical assistance and basic goods, while also ensuring that basic needs, education, safe water and health needs are met during the recovery phase.
Since 2012, INTERSOS has had operations in the Middle East to contribute towards ensuring emergency relief and social protection assistance for Syrian refugees fleeing their home in search of safety, with special focus on most vulnerable groups (children, women, elderly and persons with special needs).
In Jordan, INTERSOS has focused its humanitarian response on supporting Syrian families displaced across urban and rural areas, as well as vulnerable host communities, with a programme that concentrates on protection
Purpose/objective of the position:
Execute financial and legal tasks, according to Finance Officer indications and INTERSOS procedures, in order to ensure legal compliance to local laws and to donor’s requirements.

Hierarchical: Finance Officer
Duty Station: Amman, Jordan
Tasks
Verify the supporting documents of each transaction before booking it into the accounting journal
Check compliance with internal and donor procedures before processing payments by liaising with relevant departments.
Manage the cash box of the base by respecting INTERSOS’ procedures
Record the transactions in the field journal
Archive all financial and accounting documents, and send hard copies to the coordination office
Verify all supporting documents before any audit exercise
Present daily, weekly and monthly cash declarations.
Liaise with the bank for daily operations and ensure proper monitoring of bank movements.
Maintain a clear and secure archiving system for all financial and administrative documents.
Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial records.
Draft formal letters and documents in Arabic for administrative/financial purposes.
Support in following up on legal requirements regarding international staff (visas, work permits, residency)
Support in following up with the local authorities with the collaboration of the HR Officer and Liaison Officer for administrative related duties: Social Security Corporation, Income Tax Department, Ministry of Social Development
Requirements
Education
Accounting , Finance, Business or Administration related diploma.
Professional experience
2 years of previous experience in relevant position.
Desirable previous experience of 1 year with NGO’s in developing countries.
