JOB TITLE: Case Manager

CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3 - the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to children or young people
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Case Manager, under the supervision of the Project Manager and with technical support from the MHPSS and Case Management Specialist, is responsible for providing comprehensive case management services. This includes identifying and assessing cases in need of individual support, planning and implementing tailored responses, managing referrals and coordination with support services, documenting all case information, and monitoring and following up on cases to ensure their progress and well-being. The role also involves delivering structured mentoring and hands-on technical support to MOSD and CBO field staff under the RDPP project, with a focus on strengthening the technical and practical capacities of front-line workers and ensuring the effective implementation of national case management framework procedures.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
The Case manager roles and responsibilities:
The Case Manager is specifically responsible to identify and document cases and conduct comprehensive case management.
Identify, register, and document cases of children at risk through comprehensive assessments.
Conduct initial assessments and Best Interests Assessment (BIA) for all cases.
Identify risks, vulnerabilities, strengths, and required support for each child.
Develop and implement individualized case/care plans with children and caregivers based on assessment findings.
Monitor progress, regularly update care plans, and ensure access to education.
Establish immediate safety plans and long-term goals to support child and family stability.
Conduct follow-up including home visits, guidance, emotional support, and referrals as needed.
Prioritize cases based on risk levels and vulnerability criteria.
Document all case management activities using standardized forms, case notes, and databases while ensuring data protection and confidentiality.
Maintain family files in line with organizational filing criteria.
Submit weekly and monthly updates on cases to supervisors.
Participate in team meetings and multidisciplinary case discussions for complex cases.
Provide hands-on mentoring and technical support to MoSD and CBOs field staff to ensure effective implementation of national case management procedures.
Support staff in conducting child-friendly, ethical, and age-appropriate interviews.
Guide MoSD and CBOs field staff in service mapping at community and national levels and in applying safe referral pathways consistently.
Monitor MoSD and CBOs field staff adherence to SOPs and identify gaps for improvement.
Conduct joint field visits to strengthen staff technical and practical skills.
Provide feedback, document learnings, and support integration of improvements into practice.
Support coordination between SCJ teams and partners to ensure harmonized case management approaches.
Maintain updated service mapping to facilitate effective referrals.
Share reports on activity progress, mentoring outcomes, emerging gaps, and recommendations.
Ensure alignment with Save the Children’s Case Management Quality Assessment Framework.
Perform other duties as assigned related to project implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
BA Degree in Social work, Psychologist, Counselling, Social Studies or any related field.
Good speaking and writing skills in English and Arabic.
At least 2 years of working experience as a case manager, preferably with a child protection NGO or service provider.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work independently with little direction from others as necessary.
