Position Overview:
The Credit Controller manages credit operations, ensuring effective credit risk management and timely collections. Key responsibilities include assessing creditworthiness, approving and monitoring credit limits, implementing collection strategies, analyzing receivables, and preparing reports. The role also involves coordinating with legal counsel on collections, addressing credit deviations, and facilitating system credit requests.
Responsibilities:
- Credit Management including implementing credit control policy, assessing and approving credit limits for customers based on their creditworthiness, monitoring and reviewing credit limits regularly to manage risk.
- Overseeing the collection of outstanding receivables to ensure timely payments and to implement effective collection strategies and processes to reduce overdue balances.
- Preparing regular reports on accounts receivable, overdue accounts, and collection performance.
- Liaise with the lawyer to facilitate and support collection efforts.
- Act as an intermediary step in the credit request on-system by reviewing the request and pushing it through to the approval process once it has all been checked.
- Handle any deviations in credit.
Qualifications:
Education:
- BSc in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
Languages:
- Fluent Proficiency in English language is required
Years of experience:
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in credit control with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
Key Competencies / Skills:
- Strong knowledge of credit management principles, financial analysis, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in credit management software (module, Portal).
- Effective leadership and team management abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
