We are pleased to announce an opening for the position of: Accountant
Job Summary:A detail-oriented and analytical Accountant with 3 years of hands-on experience in the construction sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing project-based financial records, cost control, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The role requires strong knowledge of construction contracts, job costing, and vendor management, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, estimators, and procurement teams to maintain financial efficiency and transparency throughout all project phases.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, job costing, and budgeting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance with company policies.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:Financial & Technical Duties
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to construction projects.
- Monitor and track job costing, project budgets, and actual vs. forecasted expenses.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable specific to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Process payroll and ensure proper allocation of labor costs to respective projects.
- Review construction contracts to ensure accurate billing and compliance.
- Generate financial reports for project managers, including budget tracking and cost analysis.
- Assist in internal and external audits, including documentation and reporting.
- Support the preparation of tax filings, including sales tax and use tax across jurisdictions.
- Contribute to improving accounting systems and financial control processes.
