Title: Business Development Manager

About the Job
This role will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, forming strategic partnerships, and launching products and services in line with Valu’s fintech offerings. This role will report directly to the Chief business dev and partnership officer in Egyptand collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Marketing, Operations, and Compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Growth & Competitive Strategy
- Conduct thorough market research to identify opportunities and challenges in the Local Market fintech space.
- Monitor competitor activities and trends to maintain a competitive edge.
Partnership & Channel Development
- Identify, approach, and secure strategic partnerships with merchants, financial institutions, telcos, and other ecosystem players.
- Develop B2B and B2C channel strategies to drive customer acquisition and merchant integration.
- Negotiate and finalize commercial agreements and partnerships in line with Valu’s standards.
Revenue Growth & Performance
- Achieving KPIs related to user acquisition, merchant onboarding, transaction volume, and revenue.
- Provide regular reports and insights on HQ performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Work closely with the Product and Tech teams to adapt or localize offerings as needed.
Cross-functional Coordination
- Liaise with Marketing, Product, Legal, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure alignment and execution of go-to-market plans.
- Act as the point of contact in Jordan for all business development-related activities and coordinate with HQ to ensure consistency in strategy and brand.
Regulatory & Risk Management
- Support regulatory engagement in coordination with HQ legal and compliance teams.
- Ensure all partnerships and activities comply with local laws and fintech regulations in the local market.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or postgraduate studies is a plus.
- 5–8 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or strategic roles, preferably in fintech, banking, e-commerce, or telco sectors.
- Proven track record of market development and launching new products or services.
- Strong understanding of the Local Market financial ecosystem and consumer behavior.
- Experience in contract negotiation, deal structuring, and relationship management.

- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable working with digital products, APIs, CRM platforms, and fintech tools.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be currently based in Jordan.
- Willingness to travel locally and occasionally to Egypt or other markets as needed.
- Strong network within the local business community in Market is a plus.
- Knowledge of the regulatory landscape for fintech or consumer lending in the Local Market is highly preferred.
