Ensures the continuous unaffected running of operations through:
• Understanding the different requirements for updating each of the databases (ex: space, language, support operating systems, …etc) and preparing the infrastructure if required for easy access and installation.
• Installing the updates of the different systems in the companies upon receiving the updates each morning:
• Installing, upgrading and downloading new versions of other softwares /systems as per requirements
• Providing overall support for each of the systems/ applications especially when problems occur (24/7) by:
Investigating the sources of problems that affect the running of the applications and systems.
Reviewing possible solutions and applying them or contacting the suppliers for a resolution according to the requirements and the case faced. And coordinating any troubleshooting of systems.
Periodically reviewing and monitoring database designs/ models and size in order to reduce any chances for data loss, corruption, …etc.
Coordinating testing with users especially after updates and changes on databases.
Ensuring that updates are complete before going live.
• Works with users to understand their needs and create the appropriate scripts to provide them with the required reports.
Writing and running SQL scripts for freight database to automate manual work or other scripts and applications when needed.
Updating all the requirements to connect the systems with others
• Handling the database and critical application security.
• Create small applications using office 365 tools via Power Automate.
• Ensures the availability of data and minimize data loss by:
Performing automatic/ manual Data Backups according to the backup procedure.
Using the database management tools for connecting data and automating the back-up procedure.
Run the daily back-up for critical mission applications databases for Shipping and Finance systems.
Checking that the daily back-ups were done successfully according to the lists
Investigate reasons for back-up failures and solve the issues immediately and reporting them to the concerned parties on time.
Initializing the Azure files and folders back-up.
Administering the privileges and permissions to access the databases.
• To ensure proper analysis, troubleshooting and solving of problems related to the flow of data through IT systems by:
Follow up on the IT Diagrams and edit some network diagrams according to the need and changes. On premises infrastructure.
Ensure that changes are communicated to all the team to consider when performing any of their tasks.
• Protects company assets, reputation and databases through:
Ensure only authorized access to company assets and databases following the user access procedure.
Evaluating the contract vendors/ suppliers performance on a regular basis and ensure that they are completing their tasks as per requirements and within the required standards and needs.
Reporting any incidents that may require action from direct manager.
