About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Amman and support daily accounting operations in a fast-paced e-commerce environment. You'll keep our financial records accurate and compliant, reconcile transactions across multiple sales and payment channels, and work closely with other departments to support Sporter.com's growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Record daily accounting transactions and prepare journal entries.
- Process supplier invoices, expense reports, and payments.
- Support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) activities.
- Perform bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Reconcile marketplace, payment gateway, and cash-on-delivery (COD) transactions.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing and prepare basic financial reports.
- Support VAT/sales tax documentation and audit requirements.
- Maintain organized, accurate, and well-documented financial records.
- Respond to internal inquiries about payments and financial data.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of accounting experience (internships count).
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, including journal entries, reconciliations, and basic financial reporting.
- Strong MS Excel skills, such as formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data organization.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good English and Arabic communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work on-site in Amman.
- ERP experience, preferably Odoo is a plus
- Knowledge of local accounting standards and basic tax concepts (VAT/GST) is a plus
- Experience in e-commerce or retail accounting is a plus
