About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in Amman, Jordan. This role is responsible for managing daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting financial reporting, reconciliation, and closing activities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of accounting data, monitoring financial transactions, supporting inventory costing activities, and assisting with month-end closing, audits, and statutory compliance requirements. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with different departments.

Location: Amman, Jordan
Responsibilities
- Manage petty cash transactions and perform regular petty cash reconciliations.
- Verify supporting documents for expenses and accounting transactions before processing and posting.
- Handle daily accounting transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
- Perform bank, customer, supplier, petty cash, intercompany, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Support inventory costing, landed cost calculations, and related accounting transactions.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring all transactions are completed within required deadlines.
- Prepare periodic financial and operational reports for management.
- Analyse accounting and financial data, identify variances, and investigate unusual discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and organised accounting records and supporting documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
- Support internal and external audit requirements and assist with financial reporting activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and local statutory and tax regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Good knowledge of petty cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end closing, and account reconciliations.
- Experience working with ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is preferred.
- Good Microsoft Excel skills, including working with formulas, data analysis, and reporting.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and follow-up skills.
- Flexible, cooperative, and able to work effectively with different departments and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
