The Technical Specialist is responsible for the technical delivery and ongoing support of Corporate Banking (Cash Management), Corporate Mobile, API Banking channels, and Wealth Management online platforms/projects. The role covers the full delivery lifecycle—understanding business and operational requirements, assessing feasibility, translating requirements into technical specifications, coordinating development with software vendors, managing releases, executing deployments and validations in test environments, and handing over to business counterparts for UAT. The role also ensures 24/7 platform availability by monitoring services, troubleshooting production incidents and implementation issues, and driving them to closure. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and hands-on technical expertise across digital channels, application servers, and multiple operating systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to project delivery by supporting the team in meeting agreed timelines and quality expectations.
- Translate business and operational requirements into technical requirements and validate implementation feasibility.
- Manage the vendor relationship to ensure requirements are clearly understood and software releases are delivered cleanly and on time.
- Collaborate with IT teams responsible for integration layers and solution architecture to ensure optimal design and alignment.
- Monitor and analyze system performance, identify improvement opportunities, and proactively address issues internally or with vendors, tracking them through to closure.
- Oversee change management activities to ensure changes are assessed, approved, and implemented in a controlled manner.
- Implement and maintain an effective escalation process for high-priority issues and service disruptions.
- Facilitate clear communication between technical teams, management, and stakeholders to align expectations and service delivery.
- Proactively engage stakeholders to understand needs, priorities, and expectations.
- Enhance customer experience by monitoring services, implementing preventive controls, and maintaining awareness of relevant technologies and best practices.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
- 4–5 years of relevant experience in a related technical role.
- Strong understanding of digital/eChannel platforms (web and mobile), and basic banking principles.
- Strong knowledge of application servers and related technologies (e.g., Apache Tomcat).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance improvement and data-driven decisions.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and diverse audiences.
- Experience administering, tuning, and troubleshooting application/web servers such as Apache Tomcat, IBM WebSphere Application Server, Apache HTTP Server, IBM HTTP Server
- Experience with operating systems such as IBM AIX and Red Hat Linux.
- Experience with OpenShift, Docker, and containerization technologies is an advantage.
- Experience with Oracle databases, including complex SQL queries, interpreting AWR reports, and preparing technical reports.
- Experience with mobile app publishing is an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions during high-severity incidents and emergencies.
