Job Description
The Healthcare Technical Architect is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and interoperable healthcare IT solutions, and architecting enterprise healthcare systems, cloud-based architectures, EHR integrations, and emerging digital health technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Design & Implementation
- Develop and implement scalable, high-performance healthcare IT architectures.
- Design cloud-based, hybrid, and on-premises solutions for healthcare organizations.
- Oversee the integration of EHR/EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.) with other healthcare applications.
Integration Design & Interoperability
- Ensure seamless data exchange between healthcare systems using FHIR, HL7, DICOM, and other interoperability standards.
- Work with APIs, middleware, and integration platforms to connect disparate health IT systems.
- Enable real-time data sharing and decision support systems for healthcare providers.
Data Security & Compliance
- Ensure health IT solutions comply with HIPAA, HITECH, GDPR, and FDA regulations.
- Implement cybersecurity best practices, including data encryption, identity management, and secure access controls.
- Oversee disaster recovery and business continuity planning for healthcare IT infrastructures.
Digital Health Innovation & Emerging Technologies
- Evaluate and implement AI-driven analytics, telehealth, IoT-enabled medical devices, and blockchain technologies in healthcare.
- Optimize cloud computing (Azure) and big data solutions for healthcare applications.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Work closely with healthcare providers, IT teams, software vendors, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams and IT stakeholders.
- Develop technical roadmaps and best practices for long-term digital transformation.
