Qima Coffee | Origins 1450 Group
Job Location: Amman, Jordan
About Qima Coffee
Qima Coffee is a specialty green coffee sourcing and trading company operating across some of the world's most distinctive coffee origins, including Yemen, Colombia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Uganda, Brazil, and beyond.
We work directly with thousands of producers and supply specialty roasters, importers, traders, and coffee companies across Japan, Korea, China, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Europe, and North America.
Our commercial model is unusual. We combine the relationships, agility, and sourcing depth of an independent specialty coffee company with the infrastructure, logistics capability, and trade finance support of a serious international trading business.
We are founder-led, fast-moving, and deeply committed to doing things properly — commercially, operationally, and ethically.
The Role
This is one of the most important commercial hires we have made.
You will work directly with the CEO and act as the connective tissue between our country managers, origin teams, logistics and supply chain teams, finance teams, and customers across every market we operate in.
You are not being hired to build reports.
You are not being hired to manage a CRM.
You are not being hired to analyse problems and present them upward.
You are being hired to make things happen.
To drive commercial performance across multiple international markets simultaneously. To support, coach, challenge, and develop our country managers. To unblock bottlenecks before they become problems. To spot opportunities others miss. To make sound commercial decisions with imperfect information. To turn commercial intent into commercial results.
Over time, the best way to describe this role is simple:
You become the CEO's day-to-day commercial integrator for the global green coffee business.
The person who ensures opportunities do not get lost, decisions do not stall, and commercial momentum is maintained across every market.
Why This Role Exists
Qima has talented people across sourcing, logistics, quality, operations, finance, and sales.
What we need is someone who sits across all of those functions and ensures that opportunities become results.
Someone who notices when inventory is sitting unsold.
Someone who helps country managers close deals.
Someone who can align origin, logistics, sales teams, and customers around a commercial objective.
Someone who naturally sees opportunities where others see obstacles.
Someone who combines commercial judgement, operational effectiveness, and strong people skills.
This role exists to help us scale that capability.
What You Will Do
Drive Commercial Performance Across All Markets
Support, challenge, and coach our country managers across Asia, Europe, North America, and the Middle East.
Help them close opportunities, navigate customer challenges, improve conversion rates, and maximise commercial outcomes.
Maintain visibility over major opportunities, key accounts, inventory priorities, and commercial activity across all markets.
Be the First Point of Escalation
When commercial issues arise, you help solve them.
Customer complaints.
Inventory allocation decisions.
Pricing discussions.
Supply chain constraints.
Delayed shipments.
Conflicting market priorities.
You do not simply pass problems upward.
You form a view, drive toward a solution, and bring the CEO a recommendation rather than a problem.
Create Opportunities
You are constantly looking for commercial opportunities.
When inventory becomes available, you think about who might buy it.
When a customer issue arises, you think about how to strengthen the relationship.
When a shipment is moving, you think about how to maximise its value.
When others see constraints, you see options.
You are commercially opportunistic without compromising integrity.
Coordinate Across the Business
You will work closely with:
- Country Managers
- Origin Teams
- Logistics Teams
- Supply Chain Teams
- Quality Teams
- Finance Teams
- Senior Leadership
You are comfortable navigating competing priorities and bringing people together around a commercial objective.
You do not rely on authority to get things done.
You build alignment, influence stakeholders, and create momentum.
Develop and Support the BD Team
You genuinely want people to succeed.
You celebrate wins.
You coach people through challenges.
You provide clear direction.
You hold people accountable.
You are supportive without being passive.
Demanding without being demoralising.
You create energy and momentum around you.
Build Commercial Discipline
Whilst this is not primarily an administrative role, you ensure that:
Opportunities are followed up
Commitments are delivered
Customers receive timely responses
Actions are completed
Commercial information is communicated effectively
You understand that execution creates revenue.
What We Are Looking For
You naturally spot value being left on the table.
You understand that speed, timing, and initiative are themselves commercial advantages.
You think in outcomes, not activities.
You are comfortable making decisions with imperfect information.
You do not wait for certainty or consensus.
You assess, decide, and move.
You know that a good decision today is often more valuable than a perfect decision next week.
Customers trust you.
Colleagues enjoy working with you.
You can challenge people without alienating them.
You can influence people without relying on authority.
You build relationships quickly and effectively.
You will work with people across Korea, Japan, China, Saudi Arabia, Europe, North America, and Latin America.
You understand that different cultures require different communication styles.
You are comfortable operating across multiple countries, markets, and personalities simultaneously.
- Operational Effectiveness
You are organised enough to manage multiple priorities at once.
You follow through.
You close loops.
You do not let important issues drift.
You are constitutionally uncomfortable with things sitting unresolved.
You think like an owner.
You look after company resources as if they were your own.
You actively look for ways to improve performance rather than waiting for instruction.
You care about outcomes, not just effort.
Experience
- 5+ years in commercial, business development, trading, account management, operations, or general management roles.
- Experience working in fast-moving international business environments.
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders across different markets and cultures.
- Experience in commodities, international trade, FMCG, food and beverage, or specialty coffee is advantageous but not essential.
- Fluent English is required.
- Arabic is strongly preferred.
- Additional languages such as Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese are a genuine advantage.
What Success Looks Like After 12 Months
- Country managers feel more supported, more accountable, and more effective.
- Commercial opportunities move faster from identification to close.
- Customer issues are resolved more quickly and proactively.
- Commercial bottlenecks are identified and addressed before they become problems.
- More inventory is sold.
- More opportunities are converted into revenue.
- More markets are performing at a higher level.
- The CEO is no longer acting as the day-to-day commercial integrator of the global green coffee business.
What We Offer
Base Salary: 25,000–30,000 JOD per year, depending on experience.
Performance Commission: Uncapped commission directly linked to commercial growth and business performance.
On-Target Earnings (OTE): 50,000–70,000 JOD per year for a strong performer, with higher upside for exceptional commercial impact.

Growth Opportunity: This role is designed to evolve. For the right individual, there is a clear pathway toward broader commercial leadership responsibilities across Qima Coffee and potentially the wider Origins 1450 Group.
