Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid Accountant role based in Amman, with flexibility to work from home for part of the week. The Accountant will manage daily bookkeeping, including recording transactions, reconciling bank statements, handling accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining accurate general ledger entries. Responsibilities include preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and monitoring cash flow. The role will also involve ensuring compliance with local accounting standards and tax regulations, preparing supporting documentation for audits, and maintaining organized financial records. The Accountant will collaborate with operations, sales, and management to provide financial insights, support inventory costing for products, and contribute to process improvements that enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in accounting principles, including general ledger management, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, spreadsheets, and financial dashboards).
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and basic financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Knowledge of local tax regulations, compliance requirements, and audit preparation practices.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborating in person in Amman and remotely as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
- Prior experience in retail, e-commerce, or product-based businesses is an advantage.
