Role Overview
An Appian Developer builds scalable business applications using the Appian low-code platform. They work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to automate workflows, integrate systems, and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop applications using Appian (interfaces, process models, records, reports)
* Translate business requirements into technical solutions
* Build and optimize workflows
* Integrate Appian with external systems (REST/SOAP APIs, databases)
* Develop reusable components and plug-ins when needed
* Perform unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, DevOps, business users)
* Maintain documentation for applications and processes
* Ensure security, scalability, and best practices compliance
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Strong experience with the Appian Platform
* Knowledge of:
* Process Modeling (BPMN)
* Appian (UI development)
* Data modeling & relational databases (SQL)
* Experience with APIs (REST/SOAP)
* Understanding of web technologies (HTML, JavaScript basics)
* Problem-solving and analytical thinking
Preferred Qualifications
* Appian Certification (Associate Developer / Senior Developer)
