JOB PURPOSE
The Group Control and Reporting Senior Manager ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records across the group, supports strategic planning through financial insights, manages financial risks, and ensures compliance with regulations. This role also involves leading the Control and reporting team in collaboration with Group CFO, overseeing performance monitoring, and ensuring that financial activities align with the group's goals and objectives. Additionally, this role also involves leading the finance function in subsidiaries, where finance managers’ report to the Group Control and Reporting Senior Manager technically.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Leadership and Management
- Lead and manage the group’s finance team, ensuring efficient operation and alignment with group goals.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance to finance managers in subsidiaries, ensuring consistent financial practices and reporting.
- Mentor and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical leadership to finance managers in subsidiaries, ensuring that they adhere to group-wide financial strategies and practices.
- Support subsidiaries in implementing best practices in financial management and reporting.
2. Financial Reporting & Consolidation
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Group Controlling & Reporting department.
- Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements for the group, adhering to IFRS and ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Consolidate financial statements from subsidiaries to provide a comprehensive picture of the group's overall financials.
- Collaborate with subsidiary finance teams to collect financial data and ensure timely reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results.
- Analyze financial statements to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, providing insightful interpretations for senior management.
3. Internal Controls
- Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard the group’s assets.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Conduct regular audits of financial processes and controls, identifying areas for improvement.
4. Compliance & Risk Management:
- Champion adherence to regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and internal policies across all subsidiaries.
- Implement and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard assets, mitigate financial risks, and ensure data integrity.
- Develop and implement a standardized reporting framework for subsidiaries to guarantee consistent and comparable data.
- Proactively monitor changes in the regulatory landscape and assess potential impacts on the group's financial reporting and operations.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive compliance program for the department.
5. Financial Analysis & Insights:
- Conduct in-depth financial analyses to evaluate the performance of group subsidiaries, identifying key drivers of profitability, efficiency, and growth.
- Analyze financial performance metrics (revenue, profitability, cash flow, ROI) for subsidiaries and the group.
- Investigate and explain significant deviations from budget or expectations.
- Translate financial results into actionable insights and recommendations for management, optimizing resource allocation, capital investments, and strategic initiatives.
- Develop financial models and forecasts to support strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Conduct cost-benefit and sensitivity analyses to inform strategic choices.
6. Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration:
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Controlling & Reporting department, senior management, and external auditors.
- Manage the annual external audit process for the group, including ensuring subsidiary compliance with all audit requirements and timely issuance of financial statements according to their respective country deadlines.
- Effectively communicate financial results, insights, and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders, fostering transparency and alignment with organizational goals and policies.
- Partner with business units to translate strategic objectives into clear financial objectives and metrics.
7. Process Improvement & Optimization:
- Continuously evaluate and enhance financial reporting processes, systems, and controls to increase efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.
- Identify opportunities for automation and technological advancements to streamline financial management processes and strengthen data analytics capabilities.
- Champion continuous improvement within the Controlling & Reporting department.
- Oversee the professional development of the Controlling & Reporting team and subsidiary finance managers.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- CMA, CPA, ACCA is a plus.
Experience
- Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in Financial Controlling, Corporate Finance, Financial Reporting or related roles.
- Minimum 4+ years in a managerial role.
- Group experience is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
Strong leadership skills with experience managing finance teams, including
those in subsidiaries.
Extensive experience in financial management, preferably in a group or multinational environment.
Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is mandatory.
Proficiency in ERP systems.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Solid IFRS knowledge.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
