Purpose of the Job
The AP Accountant is responsible for the end-to-end management of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle within ACCBC KSA, ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, payment allocation, and intercompany reconciliation. The role safeguards the integrity of accounts payable data in the financial statements, supports balance sheet consolidation, and ensures adherence to the indirect procurement framework. The AP Accountant partners with branch finance teams, procurement, and HQ to maintain SLA compliance, drive process improvement across the P2P cycle, and deliver accurate month-end closing for AP, warehouse, and stock reports.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. AP Invoice Processing & 3-Way Matching
- Process supplier invoices through rigorous 3-way matching (PO, GRN, invoice) to ensure accuracy before booking.
- Administer supplier invoice documentation, ensuring completeness, proper approvals, and timely entry into the ERP system.
- Maintain and monitor AP SLAs, ensuring invoices are processed within agreed turnaround times.
2. Supplier Reconciliation & Payment Management
- Perform periodic supplier reconciliation and coordinate supplier balance confirmations.
- Investigate and resolve supplier statement discrepancies in collaboration with procurement and receiving teams.
- Support payment scheduling and ensure alignment with cash flow planning and vendor payment terms.
3. Intercompany & Branch Reconciliation
- Ensure accurate intercompany reconciliation between branches, ASDI, HQ and corporate entities.
- Identify, investigate, and follow up on intercompany reconciling items to maintain clean inter-entity balances.
4. Petty Cash & HO Expense Management
- Book and reconcile HO petty cash transactions, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and policy compliance.
- Review expense claims for proper authorization and correct GL coding.
5. Indirect Procurement Compliance
- Ensure the indirect procurement framework is communicated to cross-functional stakeholders and consistently followed.
- Monitor compliance with procurement policies and flag deviations to the Financial Controller.
6. Balance Sheet Consolidation & Month-End Closing
- Consolidate balance sheet schedules on a monthly basis, coordinating with branch finance teams for COC and aging analysis.
- Lead month-end closing activities for AP, warehouse reports, and stock reports.
- Prepare AP-related accruals, provisions, and reclassification entries as required.
7. Process Improvement & P2P Enhancement
- Identify opportunities to enhance the P2P cycle, recommending and implementing process improvements.
- Develop documentation and SOPs for AP processes to ensure consistency and auditability.

Requirements
Work Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in accounts payable, P2P cycle management, or general accounting, preferably within FMCG or distribution.
- Hands-on experience with 3-way matching, supplier reconciliation, and intercompany accounting.
- Experience with month-end closing activities and balance sheet schedules.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification (CPA/ACCA) or progress toward qualification is an advantage.
Skills & Knowledge
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced MS Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in dynamic, multi-entity environments.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional liaison with procurement, branches, and suppliers.
- Ability and desire to grow and develop within the finance team to undertake challenging assignments.
