We’re Hiring: Senior Backend Software Engineer (Python/Django)
We’re looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer with strong expertise in Python, Django, and Django REST Framework to help us build and scale our backend systems as our platform continues to grow.
You’re a pragmatic engineer who values speed of iteration over perfection, leverages existing frameworks and libraries instead of reinventing the wheel, and takes strong ownership of your work. You’re comfortable making technical and product decisions that drive real impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Python, Django, and DRF
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications
- Continuously improve existing endpoints to reduce latency and improve scalability
- Ensure backend systems are secure, performant, and resilient
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features quickly
- Conduct code reviews and mentor team members
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend development experience with Python and Django (DRF)
- Strong experience with RESTful API design, database performance, and scalable architectures
- (PostgreSQL, MSSQL, or NoSQL)
- Proficient with Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Solid understanding of authentication, caching, and security best practices
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English
Nice to Have
- Experience with Celery and GitHub Actions
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Sentry
- Experience scaling cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes
