Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms and pipelines that support analytics, AI, and business intelligence initiatives. You will play a key role in shaping data architecture, ensuring data reliability, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines (batch and streaming).
- Build and optimize data warehouses and data lakes.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, availability, and performance across systems.
- Develop ETL/ELT processes to ingest data from multiple sources.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, and Product teams to support analytics and AI use cases.
- Optimize data storage, query performance, and cost efficiency.
- Implement data governance, security, and best practices.
- Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot production issues.
- Contribute to data architecture decisions and technical roadmaps.
- Mentor and review code for mid-level and junior data engineers.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles.
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and data processing frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with data warehouses and lakehouse architectures.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Airflow).
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Experience building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, performance tuning, and scalability.
- Experience with CI/CD and version control (Git).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with tools such as dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Experience with real-time/streaming data pipelines.
- Exposure to data governance, privacy, and compliance standards.
- Experience supporting AI/ML pipelines.
