Job Summary
The Plant Engineer at CROWN Middle East Can Manufacturing Ltd will be responsible for overseeing the operational efficiency, maintenance, and reliability of plant equipment and facilities. This role involves ensuring smooth production processes, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage preventative maintenance programs for all plant machinery and facilities to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on production lines, and oversee or perform necessary repairs.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects, focusing on optimizing processes, reducing waste, and improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Manage and supervise maintenance technicians and other technical staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies, conducting regular inspections and audits.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and other departments to identify and resolve operational challenges and support production targets.
- Manage spare parts inventory, procure necessary equipment and services, and manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
- Develop and manage the plant's capital expenditure budget for equipment upgrades, replacements, and facility improvements.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including equipment manuals, maintenance logs, and engineering drawings.
- Support new equipment installation, commissioning, and optimization projects.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a plant engineering or maintenance management role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the can manufacturing or similar high-volume production industry.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Proven experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and lean manufacturing principles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software for reviewing and developing engineering drawings.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to manufacturing operations.
