Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in Amman for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Mid-Level). In this role, the engineer will perform software quality assurance tasks, including creating and executing test plans, identifying and documenting bugs, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. The engineer will also collaborate with development teams to improve software quality, implement manual testing processes, and provide insights for optimizing software development lifecycle practices.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, write, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios
• Perform API, database, and UI testing across multiple platforms
• Conduct performance and basic security testing
• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for core system features
• Log, track, and verify defects with clear reproduction steps, logs, and screenshots
• Collaborate closely with Developers, Business Analysts, and Project Managers throughout the SDLC
• Support multiple teams and manage testing activities for small to mid-scale projects
• Participate in evening or off-hours test runs when required
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance / Testing
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing types, and Agile practices
• Hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing
• Solid experience in API testing (e.g., Postman)
• Working knowledge of SQL and database validation
• Exposure to test automation tools/frameworks (e.g., Selenium)
• Basic scripting or programming knowledge (C#, Java, or similar) is a plus
• Experience using version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• ISTQB Foundation or similar QA certification is a plus
• Willingness to travel outside Jordan
