Production Manager
Responsibilities
- Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and optimize daily production operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Actively contribute to site strategy development and execution as a member of the Site Leadership Team.
- Ensure full compliance with Freudenberg Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, as well as local laws and regulations, across all production areas.
- Manage and develop production teams, including recruitment, training, coaching, performance management, succession planning, and KPI setting.
- Provide strong technical and operational leadership to Engineers, Supervisors, and Operators, promoting best practices in manufacturing and Lean methodologies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools and techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, process flow optimization, problem solving, layout improvement, and Lean roadmap implementation.
- Define, monitor, and review production KPIs as part of the annual strategic planning process, ensuring performance is tracked through daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Maximize productivity, efficiency, and asset utilization through close collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE), and Human Resources.
- Participate effectively in internal and external audits, including HSE, ISO, customer, and certification audits.
- Manage the production budget and ensure efficient utilization of material, equipment, and human resources.
- Design and redesign production processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support sustainable operational excellence.
- Challenge the status quo by identifying and implementing opportunities for process optimization and continuous improvement.
- Prepare and present regular production performance reports and recommendations to senior management.
- Serve as a key member of the Crisis Management Team and ensure adherence to crisis management procedures and protocols.
Qualifications
- Professional Experience and Education
- academic degree or equivalent technical education/graduate required (preferably in engineering)
- knowledge of and practical experience in the FMCG industry
- 7 or more years of experience as Head of production and ideally 2 or more years in senior Supply chain management or Product Development functions
- fluent English required (written & spoken) and preferably one other language
- Change Management experience preferred
- Specific Knowledge
- strong knowledge & understanding of engineering, product supply and production processes
- good understanding of Freudenberg Guiding Principles, key financial figures and KPIs
