Role Description
We are seeking an IT Infrastructure & Automation Engineer to manage internal systems and provide technical support to clients. The role involves administering VMware, Windows, and Linux environments, automating infrastructure tasks, and assisting clients with troubleshooting and configuration needs. A strong balance of technical skills and communication is key to success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere infrastructure.
- Administer and support Windows infrastructure and Linux systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, etc.).
- Monitor and troubleshoot system, network, and performance issues.
- Implement and manage monitoring tools to ensure uptime and reliability.
- Automate infrastructure tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for clients via remote tools, email, or phone.
- Contribute to DevOps practices such as CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and version control.
- Maintain detailed documentation of systems, procedures, and client environments.
Required Skills
- Ability to learn new technologies.
- Comfortable working directly with clients in a support.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Strong knowledge of Linux systems (RHEL, Ubuntu) administration.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory administration.
- Good knowledge of shell scripting.
- Good understanding of networking (DNS, Switching, Routing, Subnetting, Firewall, VPN).
- Experience with tools like Ansible, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Docker.
- Experience in Web and Application servers (Tomcat, Apache, Nginx, IBM WebSphere Application Server) is a plus.
- Experience in virtualization platforms, especially VMware vSphere.
- Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, Computer Engineering / Computer Science/ Computer Information Systems (CIS).
- 2-3 years experience running and maintaining a 24x7 production environment.
- Excellent command of English language and communication skills.
- RHCSA or Linux+ certificates are preferred.
