Native English-Speaking Instructors
Scope Of Work
Amideast/Jordan seeks to procure the services of 8 instructors to conduct English training courses over the length of 24-months or the duration of the program period. This language and skills development program will be implemented in three different locations across Jordan. Ideal candidates are willing to live in Jordan. Instructors will be responsible for teaching up to 25 hours per week using accredited English language curriculum and materials.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver English language courses and instruction to classes of up to 25 students using curriculum developed by the Defense Language Institute English Language Center curriculum (DLIELC).
- Punctual delivery of instruction for all scheduled courses/classes.
- Attend instructors' meetings as required by the college or by the Program Manager.
- Assign assessments and conduct student performance evaluations.
- Maintain daily attendance and performance records.
- Submit weekly student performance reports as required. Provide feedback and reporting to supervisors on a weekly basis.
- Assist in activities designed for student development.
- Design supplementary materials as needed and where beneficial for the development of cadets.
Qualifications
- Must be a native English speaker.
- At least 7 years of experience of teaching English language in an international context.
- Possesses an internationally recognized English language teaching certification such as TESL/TEFL /CELTA.
- Possesses a college degree in a relevant field such as Education, English language or Literature.
- Excellent English communication, organizational, time management and presentation skills.
- Possesses a demonstratable knowledge of English language teaching methods, approaches, and materials.
- Previous experience in language education for the military or security forces is a plus, especially in the MENA region.
- Arabic proficiency is not required but familiarity with Arabic language and culture is a plus.
- Enthusiastic, committed, and a team player. Flexible, self-motivated, patient, and creative.
Contract Information
- This independent contract will provide instructors with an attractive financial return structure.
- Transportation will be secured to and from the instruction sites as well as all necessary security passes and permissions.
