About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Indirect Tax Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role will support our U.S. operations by preparing sales tax refund claims, sales tax returns, and indirect tax compliance across multiple U.S. states.
The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, advanced Excel skills, excellent English communication abilities, and an interest in U.S. sales tax and international indirect tax.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file U.S. sales tax refund claims.
- Assist with U.S. sales tax return preparation and filing.
- Reconcile sales tax receivable and payable accounts.
- Analyze invoices to ensure proper tax treatment.
- Review supporting documentation for refund claims.
- Maintain accurate tax records and documentation.
- Communicate with U.S. state tax authorities when required.
- Prepare reports and reconciliations using Microsoft Excel.
- Assist with VAT and indirect tax matters for international operations when required.
- Support tax audits and respond to information requests.
- Work closely with the accounting and operations teams to improve tax compliance and reporting.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of accounting or indirect tax experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks or other ERP systems is an advantage).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with U.S. Sales Tax.
- Experience preparing sales tax returns.
- Experience preparing sales tax refund claims.
- Experience with VAT or GST.
- Experience working with multi-company or multi-state accounting.
English Requirement (Mandatory)
This position supports our U.S. operations.
Excellent written and spoken English is mandatory.
