Role Description
The Senior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Amman, responsible for managing and overseeing core accounting functions and financial reporting activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing general ledger entries, monthly and annual financial statements, and account reconciliations. The role also includes managing accounts payable and receivable cycles, monitoring cash flow and bank reconciliations, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes. The Senior Accountant will ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards, assist with tax filings and external audits, and provide financial analysis and insights to support management decisions. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, maintains accurate financial records, and contributes to process improvements and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Strong technical accounting skills, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business planning and decision-making.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge of local and international accounting standards, tax regulations, and audit processes.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is an advantage.
- Previous experience in a senior or supervisory accounting role, ideally within pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or distribution sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment and maintain high ethical and confidentiality standards.
