Job Purpose:
Plan, develop and coordinate the activities of the Safety Department. Administer the Inspection, Investigations as required to be able to report on causes and corrective actions. The role manages a small team that investigates reported non-compliances both internally and for external customers to comply with the local and external regulators.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage the Safety Management System.
- Coordinate roles and responsibilities of the reporting staff within the SMS.
- Develop and implement workplace safety policies and procedures in accordance with recgonised international standards.
- Direct, develop, and implement processes, standards and utilization of tools and methods to ensure continual improvement and effectiveness of existing quality processes.
- Produce formal reports outlining trends within the Joramco Part 145 business unit(s) performance in support of the Safety Review Board (SRB) and the monthly Safety Action Group (SAG)
- Manage and facilitate the SMS reporting system (occurrence and voluntary reports).
- Implement an independent audit program in which compliance with applicable requirements is reviewed at regular intervals. Ensure that the audit reports are accurate and fair representations of the facts. Ensure any observed non–compliance is brought to the attention of the relevant responsible managers and promote timely corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with JORAMCO Internal Procedures Manual and the Maintenance Organization Exposition
- Identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health hazards.
- Review safety training and recommend revisions, improvements, and updates.
- Adhere to company and department approved system, policies, procedures in perform his/her duties.
- Participate effectively in environmental protection programs (energy and water saving, waste segregation,) and notify for any environmental related nonconformities.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:
- B.Sc., Safety engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or any related field.
- A10+ years of experience in Safety Management in a MRO, Aviation environment is preferred.
- Experience with Quality standards including ISO9001:2015.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement processes.
- Excellent knowledge of Safety Management Systems.
- Excellent knowledge of hazard identification and Safety Risk management.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations relating to SMS.
- Knowledge of investigation procedures and techniques.
- Interview techniques at a management level.
- Report writing at a technical level
- Fluency in English
- Proficient Knowledge with, Ms. Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
- Strong Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis
