Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Finance & Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations. This role is critical to ensuring the organization’s financial health, donor compliance, and long-term sustainability. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, deep experience in the NGO sector, and a commitment to financial governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Leadership: Lead and manage all financial and accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
- Policy & Controls: Develop, implement, and strengthen financial policies and internal control systems.
- Planning & Budgeting: Oversee organizational budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support JYIF’s strategic growth.
- Donor Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to donor regulations, grant requirements, and reporting standards.
- Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements and detailed management reports for leadership and board review.
- Risk Management: Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and financial risk mitigation strategies.
- Audit Coordination: Lead the coordination of internal and external audits.
- Operational Finance: Supervise payroll, financial documentation, and daily accounting transactions.
- Business Development: Support proposal budgeting and contribute to fundraising efforts.
- Team Management: Supervise, train, and mentor the finance team to build capacity.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
- Sector Knowledge: Significant experience working with NGOs and managing donor-funded projects (e.g., UN, EU, USAID).
- Audit & Compliance: Proven track record in audit coordination and navigating complex donor compliance requirements.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks or similar) and MS Excel.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CMA, JCPA, or ACCA are a strong asset.
- Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Language: Fluency in Arabic (written and spoken) and a good command of English.
