Established automobile trading company headquartered in Kuwait, with operations in Jordan and Dubai, is looking to hire a Chief Accountant to join and oversee the finance function of its Amman branch.
About the JobThe ideal candidate will be a seasoned accounting professional with strong analytical skills and a hands-on approach. They will be responsible for managing all accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the company’s trading activities.
This position requires someone with excellent knowledge of ERP systems, inventory management, and the ability to lead accounting processes independently.
Responsibilities- Oversee all accounting operations including A/P, A/R, GL, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
- Manage monthly and annual closing procedures and prepare accurate financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Implement, monitor, and optimize the ERP accounting system and ensure data integrity.
- Maintain accurate inventory accounting, cost allocations, and stock reconciliations.
- Provide management with timely and reliable financial reports and analysis.
- Coordinate with auditors, banks, and external stakeholders as required.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning.
- Identify process improvements and contribute to overall business growth.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a trading or distribution company.
- Proven experience with ERP systems (knowledge of Odoo, SAP, or Oracle is an advantage).
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting and cost control.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- High attention to detail, integrity, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
