Technology leader with 13 years in e-commerce and payments, still hands-on in architecture and code.
For the last ten years I was at Golden Scent, Saudi Arabia’s largest online beauty retailer. I joined as a web developer and grew into VP of Technology, reporting to the CEO. I owned the architecture across backend, web, mobile apps, data and infrastructure, and grew the engineering team from 10 to 25, promoting three leads from within.
Highlights:
Rebuilt a 12-year-old platform in 18 months: microservices on AWS and Kubernetes, a new React website and Flutter apps. Five-hour cutover, incidents down 30%.
Cut infrastructure costs by more than half while keeping 99.9% uptime on checkout at peak.
Built the payments stack (Apple Pay, STC Pay, Tamara, Tabby, Checkout.com, Amazon Payment Services), plus ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365), carrier and inventory integrations.
Built 30+ event-driven services on AWS and an internal framework that made new services 5× faster to ship.
Before Golden Scent I worked on the core payment team at Payfort (now Amazon Payment Services) in Amman.
