Role Description The Junior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Amman, supporting the financial operations of Jahangir’s restaurants and cafés. The Junior Accountant will assist with daily bookkeeping tasks, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling cash, bank, and supplier accounts. Responsibilities include preparing invoices, processing payments, tracking expenses, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The role also involves assisting with inventory costing, revenue reporting, and financial documentation for internal reviews and external auditors. The Junior Accountant will collaborate with the operations and management teams to ensure accurate financial data, compliance with local regulations, and timely reporting.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in accounting principles, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
- Proficiency in basic financial reporting, invoicing, and expense tracking, preferably within the hospitality or retail sector.
- Ability to work with accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), including data entry, formulas, and basic analysis.
- Attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with finance, operations, and management teams.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and support month-end closings.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Willingness to learn, adapt to evolving business needs, and grow within a dynamic hospitality environment.
- Familiarity with Jordanian accounting standards and tax regulations is an advantage.
