Role Description The Junior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Amman, Jordan. The Junior Accountant will assist with day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, preparing journal entries, and maintaining accurate ledgers for the hotel apartments and related entities. Responsibilities include supporting accounts payable and receivable processes, reconciling bank and account statements, and helping prepare periodic financial reports. The role will also involve coordinating with operations and front-office teams to validate revenue and expenses, assisting with budget tracking, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and relevant accounting standards. The Junior Accountant will contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes, support audits when needed, and provide timely, reliable financial information to management.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational accounting skills, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation, and basic financial reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to work accurately with numbers and handle data entry and analysis.
- Understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, invoicing, payment tracking, and expense documentation.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a hospitality environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, maintain confidentiality, and follow established financial procedures and controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; internship or junior-level experience in accounting or hospitality is preferred.
