Role Summary:
The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the overall management and control of warehouse operations, including raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, and other inventory.
The role will focus on managing and supervising a large team of Warehouse Keepers, monitoring their performance and ensuring that all warehouse activities are carried out accurately and efficiently according to approved procedures.
The position requires extensive experience in large-scale food manufacturing warehouses, strong knowledge of inventory management and material planning, and solid hands-on experience using SAP to monitor and control warehouse transactions and inventory movement.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise a large team of Warehouse Keepers, ensuring proper manpower allocation, productivity, discipline, and adherence to warehouse procedures.
- Oversee the overall warehouse function and ensure that all storage and inventory processes are properly implemented by the warehouse team.
- Monitor and ensure the proper storage, handling, identification, and organization of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
- Ensure that warehouse operations comply with FIFO/FEFO, food safety, hygiene, quality, and traceability requirements.
- Closely monitor raw material and packaging material availability and coordinate with the Procurement Department to ensure timely replenishment based on operational requirements.
- Follow up on material consumption, stock levels, minimum/maximum stock levels, and upcoming material requirements.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Procurement, Quality, Sales, Distribution, and Finance to ensure smooth and uninterrupted material flow.
- Oversee the movement of finished goods from production to finished goods warehouses and ensure proper stock availability and organization.
- Supervise and follow up on night loading operations, ensuring that loading activities are properly planned, controlled, documented, and completed on time.
- Monitor the preparation and loading of finished goods for distribution and ensure accuracy between physical quantities and system records.
- Ensure that all warehouse transactions, stock movements, receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments are accurately recorded in SAP.
- Utilize SAP to monitor inventory balances, material movements, stock transactions, and warehouse performance.
- Monitor and investigate stock discrepancies, shortages, damages, expired materials, and inventory variances, and ensure appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure proper implementation of periodic and annual physical stock counts and reconciliation of physical inventory with SAP records.
- Monitor warehouse capacity and space utilization and ensure efficient organization of storage areas.
- Establish and monitor warehouse KPIs and ensure continuous improvement in warehouse efficiency, accuracy, and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, Food Safety Management Systems, ISO requirements, HACCP principles, and Health & Safety standards relevant to warehouse operations.
- Identify operational weaknesses and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve warehouse performance.
- Prepare and review warehouse reports related to inventory, stock movements, discrepancies, material availability, and operational performance.
- Ensure proper coordination between warehouse teams across different shifts and maintain continuous operational control.
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse personnel to ensure a high-performing and accountable warehouse team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 20 years of extensive experience in warehouse management, preferably within the food or FMCG industry.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale food warehouses and inventory operations.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management, inventory control, FIFO/FEFO, and distribution processes.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/Warehouse Management Systems; experience with SAP Business One is an advantage.
- Good command of MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and warehouse safety requirements.
