About Aumet & The Role
Aumet is building the digital backbone of the pharmaceutical supply chain across MENA. We run a B2B marketplace that connects pharmacies, wholesalers, and suppliers, plus a Pharmacy Management System (PMS) that powers day-to-day pharmacy operations.
We're hiring an
ERP Tech Lead (Staff Engineer) to own the technical direction of our Odoo-based ERP platform, which runs our accounting, inventory, purchasing, and POS, and connects to regulator-facing integrations. This is a staff-level, high-ownership role: you'll set standards for a strong, active team and own the boundary between our Odoo systems and other services in the marketplace and PMS platform.
What You'll Do
- Set technical direction and coding standards across our Odoo ERP codebase.
- Own the reliability of integrations between Odoo and our PHP-based marketplace and PMS systems.
- Raise the bar on defensive engineering for modules touching money, inventory, and regulator-facing APIs.
- Review code and mentor a capable, active ERP engineering team.
- Formalize release and review practices already emerging informally on the team.
- Be the go-to for other engineering teams on how the ERP system actually behaves.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with real technical leadership scope, not just senior IC delivery.
- Deep, hands-on Odoo experience: ORM, module architecture, migrations, override patterns.
- Solid PHP experience (Laravel a plus), enough to work confidently at the Odoo/PHP integration boundary.
- Experience with financial or transactional correctness: double-entry accounting, concurrency-safe transactions, idempotency.
- Strong general engineering fundamentals: defensive coding, system design, reasoning about a complex, multi-tenant, transactional codebase.
- Proven ability to set technical direction and raise a team's practice, not just deliver your own work well.
- Based in, or able to work core hours aligned with, Jordan or Egypt.
Nice to Have
- Experience integrating with government, regulatory, or healthcare-adjacent APIs.
- E-invoicing or tax compliance integration experience.
- Prior experience as a de facto or formal technical lead others bring architecture questions to.
- Healthcare, pharma, or marketplace domain experience.
