About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team and help design, build, and scale our backend systems. You will play a key role in architecting robust, high-performance services, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and NestJS
- Architect and optimize relational database schemas using PostgreSQL
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and DevOps to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance
- Contribute to system architecture decisions and technical roadmaps
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers
Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience in backend development
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and NestJS (or similar frameworks)
- Solid experience working with PostgreSQL (schema design, query optimization, migrations)
- Experience with AWS services is a plus (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.)
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and best practices
- Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows (CI/CD)
- Good understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalability principles
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
